Recreation: The Giant Saguaro is the universal symbol of the American West yet it is only found in a small portion of the United States. Saguaro National Park protects some of the most impressive forests of these plants. Located near the city of Tucson, Arizona, this national park is perfect for visiting in the winter. The average daytime temperature is 65 degrees F. in the winter. Summer temperatures can exceed 105 degrees F. Saguaro National Park is more than just a desert park. The highest point in the park is over 8,000 feet where you will find a dense forest of many varieties of pine trees.
