Wiki
A wiki is an online document, a webpage, that can be edited right inside the web browser. You can edit any of the state pages in our website.
Edit
Don't change someone else's work (other than basic spelling/grammar) without asking them. When you do edit a page, if you didn't enter your name when you logged in, type your first name in the "Name:" box at the bottom before clicking on "Save". If you decide not to save what you changed then click "Cancel".
Searching
When you search for something on the internet; make sure you type the name of exactly what you want, and check the spelling before you search.
Note from the Teacher
I will check the site daily during the term of this project. I will make comments and suggestions to the students. I will remove anything I consider to be inappropriate.
Warning to Students
Do not type your full name or give any information about yourself when using this site. When asked for a user name, type in the name assigned to you. Do not enter an email address. Do not share your password.
To Parents
If you do happen to spot problems of a more serious nature (before I do) please let me know immediately so I can correct them.
Comments
If you want to comment on another student's work click in the "Comments" box at the bottom of their page and type in your comment. Remember to click on "add comment", when you are done.
Downloading Pictures from Internet
When you find the picture you want, right click on the picture and click on "save image". Then decide where on your computer you will save it. Click "Save". Remember to give credit to the source of the picture. After right clicking you may also choose "copy", and when you go back to the page you are editting "paste" it where you want to include it.
Files
Pictures and photos you use may be downloaded using the "Upload Files" tab. You must first download the picture into the computer. After you click on the "Upload Files" tab, select the file you want from your computer. The file will download. Click "Home" and continue back to your page. When you are editing your page, place your cursor where you want to insert the image, then you click on "Images and files" and click on the file you want.
